Speaker for October: Sara Phalen, Director of the Warrenville Historical Society, will present the story of Ivan Albright, one of the three Albright artists that called Warrenville home in the first part of the 1900s. Ivan Albright, known for his unique artistic style, painted many of his most foundational pieces in the Albright Studio in Warrenville, now the home of the Warrenville Museum, alongside his artist father and twin brother, before gaining national fame for his piece “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and marrying Josephine Medill Patterson. Learn about the life of Ivan and how local residents served as models and helped shape his work.
