The West Suburban Symphony returns to Cantigny. The orchestra, led by Maestro Peter Lipari, will perform a 75-minute concert with no intermission.

Kick back and enjoy some of the best movie music ever written! The program includes a medley of John Williams’ greatest melodies along with film and TV music by Elmer Bernstein, Danny Elfman, Jerry Goldsmith, Stephen Sondheim and Hans Zimmer. As a special treat, the orchestra will play Svengoolie Variations, a piece written for WSS by Downers Grove composer Thomas Maslan that is often played on Chicago’s own Svengoolie television show, hosted by Rich Koz.

This concert is free with $10 parking per car. Seating is on the lawn outside the First Division Museum. We encourage guests to bring their chairs and blankets, and picnics are welcome. Concessions are available from Mamie’s Toffee & Treats, Golden Eagle Hotdogs, and Aunt Tina’s Sound Bites. This is a rain or shine event.
