About Suburban Homesteading

Calling all wannabe gardeners and homesteaders! Join us for the first program in Cantigny’s new Suburban Homesteading Series. Jillae Langman-Dalmolin, owner, and founder of Wanderin’ Barefoot Farm and cohost of the “Naturally Unhinged” podcast will kick off this series with an introduction to suburban gardening lecture and demonstration. Learn how to plan your garden and the different ways you can plant, from pots to the ground to raised beds. You’ll also learn about soil and soil testing, pests local to the Chicagoland area and how to control them, and the basics of watering.
