View a total lunar eclipse atop one of DuPage County’s highest points. Astronomers from the Naperville Astronomical Association will be on hand to provide insight on the celestial events and opportunities to gaze through their equipment. Observers are encouraged to bring their own binoculars or telescopes as well. Gates open to the public at 8 p.m. and close at 11 p.m. Viewing will continue until 1 a.m. but visitors may leave at any time. 8 p.m. – Gates open to the public
8:52 p.m. – The silhouette of the Chinese Tiangong space station crossing the moon is visible.
9:28 p.m. – The moon begins to move into the earth’s shadow (start of eclipse)
11 p.m. – Entrance gates close
11:11 p.m. – Eclipse reaches its maximum
12:55 a.m. (May 16) – Eclipse ends
1 a.m. (May 16) – Event ends
