Drawing form the Past

From 03/31/22 7:00 pm until 03/31/22 8:00 pm
At Zoom
Categories: Arts

Do you love art? Are you really “drawn” to it? Public Engagement Coordinator Chris Corrigan and a guest artist will present about a piece in our collection. Then try your hand at recreating it. All you’ll need is a pencil, eraser, a piece of paper, and love for art! No artistic experience is required to enjoy putting your creative skills to work!

In honor of Women’s History Month, we will take a look at Amy McCormick, Col. McCormick’s first wife. Amy loved animals, gardening, and charitable work. She was also a nurse during WWI. One of Amy’s greatest passions was art. She was a talented painter and avid art collector. Several of her works remain in the McCormick House collection today. After learning about Amy, we will be guided in sketching one of Amy’s self-portraits featuring her German Shepherd, Diane.
